Listen to Lucy Dacus Cover Edith Piaf's "La Vie En Rose"

2018 was a banner year for Lucy Dacus — she released an acclaimed solo album and teamed up with fellow singer-songwriter powerhouses Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker for a collaborative EP and subsequent tour. Her latest project kicks off today with a cover of the Edith Piaf classic “La Vie En Rose,” which Dacus calls “a perfect song.”

“I want someone to listen to this while running at top speed to the doorstep of the person they adore, ready to profess their deep, undying love,” she said in a statement.

“La Vie En Rose” is the inaugural release in a series Dacus will continue throughout the year, coinciding with significant calendar dates and simply titled 2019: Mother’s Day, Independence Day, Bruce Springsteen’s birthday (September 23), Halloween, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Recorded over the last two years, the tracks included in 2019 will include both original compositions and covers.

Dacus is currently on tour in North America. Find tickets here.
